# WickedAPI x402 Paywall

> WickedAPI's x402 paywall wraps any HTTP endpoint with pay-per-call access using the x402 protocol (HTTP 402 Payment Required) — payment is USDC on Base, verified and settled through the Coinbase CDP facilitator, direct to your own wallet. There is no custody: WickedAPI never holds tenant funds, and no subscription, account tier, or API key negotiation is required for a caller to pay and get data back. Configuration (price, network, payout wallet, upstream backend) is live-editable via a simple REST API — no redeploy.

Live on Base mainnet, not a testnet demo. This file follows the llms.txt convention (llmstxt.org) so coding agents and LLM-assisted IDEs can find the machine-readable docs directly.

- Protocol: x402 (HTTP 402 Payment Required), scheme `exact`, EIP-3009 `transferWithAuthorization` (gasless for the payer — no ETH needed, just a signed USDC authorization)
- Network: Base mainnet, CAIP-2 id `eip155:8453`. USDC contract `0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913`
- Facilitator: Coinbase CDP hosted facilitator (verification + settlement + on-chain broadcast)
- Discovery: paid routes are indexed on the x402 Bazaar as soon as they settle a real payment
- No signup approval, no waitlist: self-serve via `POST /signup`, live in one call
